Sesame Place announces new initiatives to reinforce diversity, equity following discrimination controversy
PHILADELPHIA - In the wake of accusations of racial discrimination, Sesame Place announced a new series of initiatives to help address diversity, equity and inclusion. The new plan, shared by the Bucks County amusement park on Tuesday, includes a racial equity assessment that will audit current policies and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement. Sesame Place officials said by the end of September, all employees will participate in an education program "designed to address bias, promote inclusion, prevent discrimination, and ensure all guests and employees feel safe and welcome." The new training program will be incorporated into the park's onboarding of all new employees, according to officials.
