Pennsylvania ready to vaccinate kids under 5 next week, health department says
PHILADELPHIA - Following an announcement from the CDC, the state of Pennsylvania says it is preparing to administer COVID-19 vaccines to children six months and older.The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s independent panel of advisers voted on Saturday to recommend the first COVID-19 shots for babies and preschoolers.Roughly 18 million kids will be eligible - about one and a half years after the vaccines first became available for adults in the U.S.The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are set to be available for children in Pennsylvania beginning Tuesday according to the Department of Health.
