Dave Matthews has withdrawn from an imminent wildfire benefit concert due to a “critical illness in the family”.Matthews was due to perform at FireAid with John Mayer – the event was first announced earlier this month in support of the victims of the devastating Los Angeles wildfires, which will take place later today (January 30) concurrently at the Intuit Dome and the Kia Forum, the latter venue originally meant to host Matthews.“Due to a critical illness in the family, Dave Matthews is unfortunately unable to perform at the FireAid and MusiCares benefits this week,” a statement read.The Kia Forum show will proceed with a line-up of Alanis Morissette, Anderson .Paak, Graham Nash, Green Day, John Fogerty, Joni Mitchell, No Doubt, P!nk, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stephen Stills and Stevie Nicks, among others.On Tuesday (January 28), Dave Matthews Band announced a 2025 summer tour, which notably includes a concert at the Kia Forum on August 22.

Julian Lennon has revealed that he underwent emergency surgery after being diagnosed with skin cancer.The elder son of Beatles legend John Lennon took to his official Instagram account to alert fans that they should always get checked for skin cancer after he was diagnosed with Melanoma for a second time recently.Julian went on to explain that prior to flying to New York from Los Angeles for work – which included a series of appearances on Good Morning America, Sirius XM, iHeart Radio and his book signing and Q&A event at Fotografiska for his book Life’s Fragile Moments – he went to his routine dermatology appointment with “Dermatologist @drtessmauricio – Dr Tess, was the one who caught & operated on My Mole/Skin Cancer, a few years ago, and literally saved My Life”.He revealed that following his appearance on Good Morning America, he received an urgent call from his dermatologist who informed him that he “had 2 locations on My Skin, Shoulder & Forearm, one of which was Melanoma, that should be operated on ASAP!“So instead of going home to put my Christmas tree up and happily finish the year off, relaxing at home, I flew directly back to Los Angeles, after all my work in New York was done, and went directly from LAX airport, to surgery, with a surgeon recommended by Dr Tess, @timneavin – who spent several hours cleaning up and operating on me, with large margins, in the hope that we have, at the end of the day – clear margins, which would mean being free from cancer.”A post shared by Julian Lennon (@julespicturepalace)He continued: “The operation was a success, but we have yet to have the results of the biopsy, which we may not receive before Christmas.
