A nurse who tested positive for coronavirus after collapsing at work is fighting for her life on a ventilator, her family say.
Hardworking breast care specialist Pauline McIlroy is thought to have contracted the potentially deadly virus at Beatson cancer unit in Glasgow where she runs a daily clinic.
The 56-year-old was rushed to A&E at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital last Wednesday with her twin sister Jackie Anderson admitting she had felt exhausted prior to her diagnosis.
Jackie told the Daily Record yesterday her sister had been “really, really tired but some days she works until seven or eight at night so she does get tired".
