India has bounced back very quickly from covid-19 pandemic, says KV Kamath
NEW DELHI : Indian economy has bounced back very quickly from disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic, former New Development Bank and ICICI Bank chief KV Kamath said on Wednesday.After a 23% on-year contraction in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth in the first quarter of the current fiscal, economic growth will pick up in July-September, October-December and January-March quarter, with restoration of supply chain and revival in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, logistics steel, automobile, cement, consumer durables, agro processing, among others, he said.“What we saw as GDP numbers in Q1 (April-June) will not be the numbers in Q2, Q3 and Q4 (July-March). Things will improve.
