Actress and new mum Carrie Bernans rushed to hospital 'unable to walk' after 'hit and run'

Marvel actress Carrie Bernans has been hospitalised after being involved in a devastating hit-and-run accident in New York City, her representatives have confirmed.

The stuntwoman, 29, who appeared in Black Panther as a member of the Dora Milaje fighting force, has been left seriously injured after a driver crashed into the outdoor area of Chirp restaurant on Monday 1 January.

Mum-of-one Carrie has reportedly broken several bones and is currently unable to walk, but she is in a stable condition. Carrie's eight month old son, Jaxon, was not present at the incident, which took place in the midst a police pursuit, her representatives have confirmed.

Police were called following reports of an assault involving a 44 year old male driving a black Mercedes and a female passenger age 34.
