WEST WHITELAND TWP, Pa. - Authorities in Pennsylvania are searching for a group of credit card thieves who they say used distraction techniques to swipe wallets from unsuspecting shoppers at local stores and restaurants. Jasmine Greene, 33, is the only suspect authorities have been able to identify thus far. Greene, according to court records, out on bail for similar charges in Montgomery County.The West Whiteland Police Department shared surveillance video from inside a Whole Foods Market that they say shows two people reach into a woman's purse as she's scrolling on her phone.One suspect is seen looking at a menu, while the other suspect squats down directly behind the victim and rummages through her person.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police are seeking three more suspects after they arrested one for a carjacking that they say ended in a police pursuit. On Saturday, around 9 p.m., officers from the 6th district responded to the 1200 block of Poplar Street for a carjacking. When responding officers arrived at the scene, they spoke with the victim about the stolen car information and the description for the suspects. When one of the officers went over the radio to inform the district of the car details, another officer observed the stolen car traveling southbound on Broad Street. Authorities say the officer activated his lights and sirens in an attempt to stop the stolen car when the offenders took off at a high rate of speed. MORE HEADLINES The pursuit ended at 700 Chester Pike in Prospect Park after the offenders crashed into a fence, according to police. After the crash, police say four offenders fled from the car, but one suspect was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit.

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, Pa. - On Saturday the Radnor’s Boys basketball team accomplished something no team had done since the 60’s - they are now the District 1 Class A Champions.Radnor came into the District 1 Class A championship undefeated.The team’s season ended in the same championship game last year."We kind of left one out there," said Head Coach Jamie Chadwin. "All through this year, we had kind of been angling to get back to this point to have another opportunity. WEST WHITELAND TOWNSHIP, Pa. - A multi-vehicle accident has closed a busy portion of a Chester County road.Officials say the accident happened early Thursday afternoon, around 1 p.m., on Route 100, in West Whiteland Township.The accident involved two tractor-trailers and eight passenger vehicles.

CALN TOWNSHIP, Pa. - The Chester County District Attorney's Office is investigating a shooting involving police in Caln Township. According to authorities, the incident began on Wednesday morning just before 2 a.m. when police received information about a stolen vehicle being found in the parking lot of a Wawa in Downingtown.  (Caln Township Police Department)Officials say the suspect, identified as 56-year-old Richard Luminello, of Houtzdale, Pennsylvania, who stole the vehicle, stole another car from the Wawa parking lot and fled from officers attempting to stop him from entering a nearby neighborhood. Police say a Caln Township officer was at the intersection of Westerham and Shelburne Road to put up stop strips when Luminello crashed into the officer's marked police car head on at a high rate of speed. SKYFOX flew over Caln Township, where a suspect was shot by police after crashing a stolen car into a police cruiser.  The stolen car hit the police cruiser so hard that it sent the cruiser backwards about 40 years, according to the District Attorney's Office. Authorities say the officer, who was behind the cruiser, had to dive out of the way to avoid being hit by the impact. As the stolen vehicle eventually came to a stop after the crash, Luminello got out of the car and began walking away from responding officers, per police. Officers shouted commands to Luminello as they approached him, officials say.

CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. - A police-involved crash ended with the death of a bicyclist in Chester County over the weekend.Officials say the bicyclist was riding on South High Street near the Route 202 overpass when he was hit by a police vehicle Sunday morning.The bicyclist, whose identity has yet to be released, was pronounced dead at the scene.MORE HEADLINES:No other injuries were reported.The vehicle belonged to the Westtown-East Goshen Police Department.

A dad-of-two who struggled with substance abuse and his mental health died while on unescorted leave from a mental health unit, an inquest has heard. Carl Thompson's mother told day one of an inquest into his death the whole tight-knit family are 'heartbroken' at his loss, and have many concerns over his care.

Officials with the Coatesville Area School District say that the Senior High School was evacuated after the safety of its students and staff were at risk following a threat that was made on Monday.  CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. - Students, staff and parents have been on edge after a string of threats against schools in Coatesville the past couple weeks. Officials say a 17-year-old student responsible for at least one of those threats is now in custody.Nearly 1,500 students and over 100 staff members were evacuated to the football stadium Monday after a threat at Coatesville Area Senior High School and the Intermediate High School.An anonymous report stating, "Someone has a boom bag full of glass bottles.

Officials with the Coatesville Area School District say nearly 1,500 students were evacuated following a message that threatened the ignition of the school on Monday afternoon.  COATESVILLE, Pa. - Officials with the Coatesville Area School District say the Senior High School was evacuated after the safety of its students and staff were at risk following a threat that was made on Monday. Just after 8:30 a.m., officials with the district say they received a message indicating that an accelerant was placed in the Senior High School and that it would be ignited at noon. The Coatesville Area Senior High School and the Intermediate High School were placed on restrictive movement until local authorities decided to conduct a search using accelerant-detecting K9s, causing nearly 1,500 students to be evacuated. The Chester County Assistant Fire Marshall says that 1,400 students and 120 staff members were relocated to the football stadium as all backpacks remained inside the building to get swept by the K9s. As students and staff waited at the stadium, officials say another message was received indicating that there were weapons on campus. After about an hour in the stadium, officials say a series of fights broke out between different groups of students, resulting in a county-wide request for assistance.

COATESVILLE, Pa. - Two young men are facing charges after authorities say at least six people suffered stab wounds during a late night fight over the weekend in Coatesville. Officers from the Coatesville Police Department were called to the 300 block of South First Avenue around 10:30 p.m. fore reports of a fight and stabbing. Police found a male at the scene bleeding from the hands and right leg, according to a report from the department.

COATESVILLE, Pa. - Officials with Coatesville Area School District announced the school has received numerous threats within the last week.According to authorities, the Chester County District Attorney’s Office, as well as Caln Township police officers are actively investigating at least four different threats to the school.On October 13, the school was put on lockdown after three separate threats regarding weapons were received by the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office and then passed on to the school.RELATED COVERAGE:The Chester County Sheriff’s Department searched the school for weapons, but found nothing and school was dismissed.Another threat was received by the school Friday, forcing administrators to cancel school for the day. Officials are investigating the threats.Coatesville was forced to cancel their homecoming football game against Downingtown due to credible threats of violence.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - Flooding concerns became all too evident Sunday, as the remnants of Hurricane Ian flooded roads down the shore and some interior sections of Philadelphia suburbs.Route 40 into and out of Atlantic City was closed because of flooding. Some of the streets looked like rivers and water even towered high above storm drains.Route 30 out of Atlantic City was also closed for a period of time because of coastal flooding.Some roads were also reportedly underwater in Sea Isle City and Wildwood.Ocean, Atlantic, and Cape May Counties in New Jersey are still under a coastal flood warning.

CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. - A late-night crash ended with the death of a teenage student in Chester County.Police say a car with two teenagers inside crashed on the 600 Block of Contention Lane in Tredyffrin Township just before midnight Saturday.One of the teens, a student at Conestoga High School, was reportedly killed in the crash.

MEDIA, Pa. - A Delaware County man is going home after spending more than four decades in prison. Leroy Evans emerged from the Delaware County Court House to deafening cheers of his supporters and the warm embrace of his wife.Attorney General Josh Shapiro made the announcement Friday about his office's Conviction Integrity Section's relief of Leroy Evans. It was November of 1980 when Emily Leo, selling Avon products, was bludgeoned to death in Chester. Evans, 64, was convicted of first-degree murder in the death of Leo in 1981.

A teen was the victim of an armed robbery and carjacking in Devon. The car was found empty in Philadelphia.

WILMINGTON, Del. - Wilmington police say they are investigating a shooting that left a teenager dead on Wednesday, while a man and woman are charged in connection with the teen's death.At around 5:38 p.m., police say they responded to the 900 block of North Spruce Street for reports of a shooting. Sky FOX was over the scene of a shooting in Wilmington that left a teenager dead.  Responding officers say they found a 19-year-old, identified as Za’Quan Blackwell, of Chester, Pa., suffering a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where officials say he succumbed to his injuries and died.According to Wilmington Police officials, 18-year-old Armani Rogers and 19-year-old Ah’kee Flonnory are both in custody.Flonnory is facing murder charges and is being held on more than $1 million cash-only bail.Rogers is facing second degree assault charges.Police are actively investigating this incident and they are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Kevin Nolan at 302-576-3962.

PARKESBURG, Pa. - A volunteer youth basketball coach in Chester County is being held on $1M bail after prosecutors say he raped a young girl and exchanged lewd Snapchat messages with other others. Investigators say Ameer Sutton-Best, 31, began sending inappropriate sexual text messages to a 13-year-old girl during the summer.

CHESTER, Pa. - A community, along with several schools, are mourning the loss of a former college basketball standout and head coach.Larry Yarbray, 51, reportedly died while riding with a group of bicyclists in Dover, Delaware, over the weekend. Police say he lost control of his bicycle, and was struck when he swerved into oncoming traffic.Yarbray was the starting point guard at Coppin State University in 1990 when the team made history with its first-ever NCAA tournament appearance.

PHILADELPHIA - A large piece of history sits in Chester County as the nation comes together to remember the lives taken during the 9/11 terrorists attacks.The National Iron & Steel Heritage Museum in Coatesville is home to the largest collection of World Trade Center steel outside New York City. In 1969, Luken's Steel built massive steel structures, known as "trees" or "tridents," as support systems for the lobby and nine floors of the Twin Towers.Most of the tridents were still standing after the tragic attacks, and now one is visible to visitors outside the museum, which now stands at the former location of the steel company."Where those tridents are is where the glass windows were for the offices on the first floor," said Jim Zigler, executive director of the museum.

CHESTER HEIGHTS, Pa. - A woman died after she crashed head-on into a pole as police were chasing her in Chester Heights Borough on Wednesday. According to Pennsylvania State Police, troopers on patrol came upon a running vehicle in a parking lot around 1 a.m. in Concord Township. Authorities say the car's registration information revealed that the vehicle, a 2012 Ford Focus, and thedriver, a 50-year-old woman, were listed as missing and endangered from Connecticut. Troopers approached the car and saw an unresponsive female in the driver's seat, officials say. State Police says troopers tapped the window, causing the woman to wake up. Troopers say the woman then began to exhibit signs that she was possibly undergoing a mental health episode and she sped away. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESTroopers followed the woman as she fled and attempted to stop her, but she put the car in reverse, striking the troopers' patrol car before going north in the southbound lanes towards oncoming traffic, according to Pennsylvania State Police. Authorities say the woman then drove back into the northbound lanes recklessly while ignoring lights and sirens from troopers. As the troopers continued to follow her, she drove head on into a utility pole on Valleybrook Road and was ejected from the vehicle, according to officials. Police say she was pronounced dead on scene and that an investigation is ongoing. This is a developing story.

Alexandra Watford CHESTER, Pa. - The search is on for two suspects after a third was arrested for the murder of a man in Chester last month.Kashif Love was reportedly killed after he was shot in the head outside a property on the 1000 block of Ward Street on August 22.Medics brought the victim to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Police say three alleged perpetrators were identified in connection to his shooting death: Damar Macklin, Alexandra Watford and Mahamadou Barrett.MORE HEADLINES:Macklin has since been taken into custody, while arrest warrants have been issued for the remaining suspects.Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. - One community's first day of school was just moments away from taking a tragic turn, and now police are looking for the driver they say would have been responsible.A school bus was picking up students for their first day of school Monday morning when a car reportedly sped past. Police say the bus was stopped with its red lights activated.Parents reportedly witnessed the incident at the corner of South Keim Street and Chester Drive in North Coventry Township.Police say the driver was fleeing from Warwick Day Care Center, where he is suspected of attempting to steal from a car in the parking lot."Luckily no one was injured but this could have been a real tragedy for a family and the entire community on the first day of school," police said.The suspected car is reportedly a newer model 4-door blue Mazda.

CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. - Reports of a police impersonator in Chester County have prompted an investigation, and now law enforcement are asking for the public's help.A 17-year-old boy told police he was pulled over by a black Ford Taurus on Route 340 in Caln Township Thursday morning. He says the Ford appeared to be an unmarked police vehicle with blue and red lights on the windshield and heavily tinted windows.A man in his early 20s wearing black tactical pants, boots, T-shirt and ballistic vest with the word "police" on the front and back then reportedly approached the teen.The alleged impersonator was not wearing a badge, and did not identify himself.

Raheem, Nathaniel and Dayon Pinder PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. - Chester County officials announce an arrest in a nearly two-year-old Phoenixville murder case.According to the Chester County District Attorney’s Office and Phoenixville Police, three members of one family are in custody and charged with the death of 73-year-old Ira Solomon.Authorities say 46-year-old Raheem Pinder, of Pottstown, 44-year-old Dayon Pinder, of West Chester and 49-year-old Philadelphia resident Nathaniel Pinder – two brothers and a cousin – were arrested and charged with murder, robbery, conspiracy and related charges.According to officials, Phoenixville police and paramedics were called on December 29, 2020, about 1 p.m., to the 400 block of Dayton Street, on the report of a person dead.Responding officers found 73-year-old Solomon on the kitchen floor, with a gunshot wound to the head. He was declared dead at the scene.Police and Chester County officials credit witnesses and other acquaintances, along with home video recordings on Dayton Street, and with surveillance from an Uwchlan Township hotel, where one of the defendants was a long-term guest, with the eventual arrest of the three men.Raheem Pinder was arrested on August 24th and is being held without bail at Chester County Prison.

WARRINGTON, Pa. - A Bucks County community has been slammed overnight with burglaries, stolen vehicles and thefts from vehicles.Police in Warrington said they investigated four residential burglaries, four reports of stolen vehicles and 25 instances of thefts from automobiles from Tuesday night into Wednesday.Officials said developments that were targeted include Fairways, Pickertown Knoll, Warrington Ridge, Hickory Ridge, Woodspring and Palomino Glen.One stolen car was found Wednesday in Doylestown and that car has been recovered.

DELAWARE COUNY - A female corrections officer from Philadelphia has surrendered for several felony charges amid recent sexual abuse claims.Alyssa Nicole Pierce, 32, is accused of engaging in "indecent contact/sexual intercourse" with a 27-year-old male inmate at least three time.Pierce was reportedly employed at State Correctional Institution Chester in Delaware County at the time.MORE HEADLINES:Pennsylvania State Police say the officer also illegally called and texted the inmate over a three-month period.She reportedly surrendered to authorities after an arrest warrant was issued for five felony charges, and is awaiting a preliminary hearing in the Delaware County Prison.

Credit: Brandywine Valley SPCA WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Nearly two dozen dogs saved in "one of the largest breeder recuses in our nation's history" arrived in Pennsylvania on Friday.Officials from the Brandywine Valley SPCA said its received 23 beagles from a rescue mission that saved about 4,000 from a facility in Virginia that sold dogs for experimentation. The facility, identified in a press release as Envirgo RMS LLC, is said to have incurred dozens of violations for issues including inadequate vet car and insufficient food. Brandywine Valley SPCA staff picked up the dogs from a Humane Society of the United States rehab center in Maryland and brought them to their West Chester facility on Friday. Credit: Brandywine Valley SPCA "We can’t wait to help these dogs join families who will cherish and love them beyond anything they thought possible," Brandywine Valley SPCA CEO Adam Lamb said. Staff members spent time double-checking the dogs for medical and socialization needs.

PHILADELPHIA - As the family of Ellen Greenberg searches for answers more than 10 years after her death, the Chester County District Attorney's Office is now taking over the case. Greenberg, a school teacher, was found stabbed to death inside her Manayunk apartment in January 2011.Her death came just a few days after she sent out save the dates for her upcoming wedding. Officials initially ruled her death as a suicide before changing it to homicide. Then, the medical examiner's office switched the matter of death back to suicide, but Greenberg's parents, Sandee and Josh, were determined to keep pushing for answers. They maintained that Greenberg could not have stabbed herself that many times."I want my daughter's name cleared, because there's no way that she could have done that to herself," Sandee Greenberg said on Good Day Philadelphia in 2021. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESGreenberg's parents filed a lawsuit against the medical examiner's office and were granted a non-jury trial to try and get the cause of death changed back to homicide or marked as "undecided." Tom Brennan, a private investigator, joined Greenberg's parents on Good Day Philadelphia and said Ellen's fiance's uncle removed items from the apartment after the crime scene was cleared, including two laptops and a cell phone. "Right then and there, that negates that chain of evidence," Brennan said. "That adversely impacts the chain of evidence on those devices so that anything that's discovered on those devices can be challenged in court."According to Brennan, the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office promised to provide a forensic analysis of Ellen's laptop, but the family never received a report.

PHILADELPHIA - Temperatures that feel like they're over 100 will stick around through Tuesday night, until Wednesday's showers and thunderstorms break the heatwave. Forecasters say the heat and humidity combined made temperatures feel like 105 across the Delaware Valley and even down most of the East Coast.A weak front will move in as storms roll through parts of Chester County on Wednesday. Norristown, Newtown, and Abington are in for some heavy downpours, forecasters say.Overnight temperatures will drop in to the 70s with a few scattered storms, which could stick around for Thursday, too. Wednesday will mark the ninth day of the heatwave with the high expected to be 91.

UPPER DARBY, Pa. - Coworkers of a SEPTA employee who was killed in a hit-and-run last week gathered on Tuesday night to remember their friend and to call on the person responsible to come forward. Police say last Wednesday, July 27, they responded to West Chester Pike and Kenmore Road in Upper Darby for an accident involving a motorcycle and a minivan. Jean Carrie, 43, was riding his motorcycle when a minivan hit him and drove away. Carrie, a SEPTA employee for the last 16 years, succumbed to his injuries and died days later. "I hope they find this person. It harbors on your heart to lose someone.
