DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - Police said a teenager faces a murder charge after shooting his twin brother in the face on Monday in a home in DeKalb County.Police said 17-year-old Xavier Hayes was arrested and booked in DeKalb County Jail for felony murder and aggravated assault. His brother, 17-year-old Dimitri Hayes, was pronounced dead at a hospital.At the scene, police described the shooting as "accidental.""It looks like one brother shot the other brother, he was just a pronounced deceased," said DeKalb County Police Sgt. BENSALEM, Pa. - Authorities in Bucks County are urging drivers not to leave their keys inside unlocked parked car following a series of overnight thefts that investigators believe could be related. The Bensalem Police Department said the string of thefts happened during the early morning hours of Aug. 17, including two thefts that happened 20 minutes apart. Officers were called to East Coast Cycle on Bristol Pike around 1:30 a.m.

PHILADELPHIA - A Philadelphia woman is fighting for her life after police say she was struck by a fallen tree branch while in her backyard on Monday. The 49-year-old woman was taken from her home on the 6600 block of Lincoln Drive to Albert Einstein Medical Center just after 11 a.m.Police did not disclose what injuries the woman sustained from being hit with the branch. It's unknown what caused the branch to fall.

READING, Pa. - Police were trying the save a woman's life when they say her shooter turned the gun on himself.The 55-year-old victim was found with a gunshot wound to the head when officers arrived at the 100 block Park Avenue in Reading on Saturday. CAMDEN COUNTY, N.J. - A high school in South Jersey is implementing new safety procedures ahead of the 2022-23 school year.Pennsauken High School will begin using metal detector screenings and student searches to "keep our students, staff, and schools safe," according to an announcement by the school district.The district says all students and visitors will be required to undergo a screening when entering the school, including all athletic and extracurricular activities. Prohibited items, including weapons, drug paraphernalia, controlled substances and vaping devices, will be confiscated.
