Nicola Sturgeon announces one coronavirus death in Scotland amid 912 new cases

Covid-19 recorded overnight. It brings the total number of cases since the pandemic began in March to 64,355 - while the death toll stands at 3,040.The number of patients currently being treated in hospital after testing positive is 1,226, with 105 in intensive care.

Last week, Sturgeon told of her "concern" about a new strain of Covid heading to Scotland from mink in Denmark. The First Minister is worried about how the virus has mutated and is warning anyone returning from Denmark must isolate for two weeks.

This will apply to not only the individual traveller but their entire household as well. Unlike travel into the UK from other countries, there will be no exemptions to this quarantine policy.Meanwhile, visitors from the country are not.
