The grainy images capture a jubilant Manchester on May 8, 1945 - Victory in Europe Day. They haven't been seen since their original publication.
Today, to mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day, more than 10,000 photographs from the Mirrorpix newspaper achieve capturing Manchester and the nation during the war are being opened up to new eyes.
