UK records lowest number of Covid deaths in nearly six months

The UK has recorded the lowest number of coronavirus-related deaths in almost six months. In the official daily coronavirus update on Sunday, March 21, another 33 deaths within 28 days of a positive Covid-19 test were added to the country's official statistics.

Patients were aged between 37 and 98 and all except two, aged 37 and 88, had known underlying health conditions. This is the lowest number of coronavirus-related deaths recorded in a single day since October 5, when 19 new deaths were linked to the virus.

Since the start of the pandemic, 126,155 people have died within 28 days of a positive Covid-19 test, whilst 146,487 people have Covid-19 listed on their death certificate.
