Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Law and Order actor dies after long illness

Harry Johnson, the legendary actor who appeared in popular shows including the original 1970s TV series Battlestar Galactica, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Law & Order, has died aged 81.The actor, who's impressive on-screen career spanned 40 years including several Dick Wolf series and the famous Harry & Louise commercials, died January 2 of in Los Angeles.

His wife of 15 years, Christiane, confirmed his passing to Deadline. His wife told the publication that Johnson loved to sail and was renowned with colleagues for his wit and habit of bringing a brightness to sets.

Born in 1942, the actor, from Plainfield, New Jersey, was often credited as Chip Johnson in the 1970s and ’80s. Harry began his career with Battlestar Galactica in 1978 and went onto guest-star on dozens of TV series.

He played a First Warrior in the pilot episode of Battlestar Galactica before going onto appear on hit shows including M*A*S*H, The A-Team, and LA Law.
