NEW DELHI: The corporate affairs ministry has said donations by companies to the Prime Minister’s emergency fund set up to fight the coronavirus pandemic will qualify as a corporate social responsibility (CSR) spending.
Finance and corporate affairs minister Nirmala Sitharaman said in a tweet on Sunday that donations from CSR funds can now be made to the Prime Minister’s ‘citizen assistance and relief in emergency situations’ (PM CARES) fund.
