Sally Dynevor has told of her gratitude after receiving the first of her two coronavirus vaccine jabs. The actress, 57, who plays Sally Metcalfe on Coronation Street, was among the 800 people to have received their jabs in the north-west yesterday.

She tweeted: "Thank you so much to our NHS. Had my vaccine and I'm so grateful. Thank you for everything you do." This comes after her co-star, Jimmi Harkishin - who plays Dev Alahan on the Cobbles - urged communities in the UK to get the jab amid a number of conspiracy theories about the jab's contents.
