EASTENDERS fans are devastated that there will be no new episodes this week - for the first time in the BBC One soap's 35 years and 6,116 shows.
The programme, which debuted in 1985, has run out of pre-recorded instalments after production was halted in March due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
While all other soaps have managed to stay on air, and have recently restarted filming, the 'Enders cast are yet to return to set.
Despite halfing the amount of weekly transmissions to just two over the past three months, they did not have enough content to tide themselves over - and the final filmed episode aired on Tuesday.
