Thursday night's usual soap lineup was missing from TV screens tonight. Emmerdale, EastEnders and Hollyoaks were all pulled from the schedules for the first time since the country went into lockdown over the coronavirus pandemic.
Bosses at some of the biggest programmes in the UK are bidding to keep episodes on the air for as long as possible over the coming months amid the health crisis.Filming has stopped on all of the series already, and channel chiefs at BBC and ITV announced last week they were planning to reduce the number of soaps being screened every week as a result.EastEnders normally airs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays with 30 minute episodes each night.
