Kate Middleton celebrated her 42nd birthday on Tuesday, 9 January surrounded by family and sweet treats made by her three young children.
To mark the Princess of Wales's birthday, King Charles and Queen Camilla shared a stunning photo of their daughter-in-law that was taken behind the scenes at the Coronation last year.
Alongside the image, which was shared from the official Royal Family Instagram account, it had the caption: "Wishing The Princess of Wales a very happy birthday today!" Fans of the princess flocked to the comments to wish her a happy birthday and thanked the royals for sharing the new photo.
But away from the spotlight, Kate had a quieter celebration with her husband, Prince William and their three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8 and Prince Louis, 5.
