Irish Book Awards revert to virtual event due to Covid-19

The live ceremony for the An Post Irish Book Awards, which had been due to take place on 23 November, has been cancelled. Organisers said the decision was taken in light of the worsening Covid-19 situation and the most recent guidance on reducing social interactions.

A virtual awards ceremony will instead be streamed and further details will be released shortly. Organisers said that they had hoped the event could go ahead in an in-person format up until this morning. "A great deal of work had gone into the planning of the awards and we're delighted to say that we will still be hosting a virtual awards ceremony to be streamed on RTÉ.ie on 23 November.
