JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – There were five minors in a car at the center of a high-speed chase that led to a police-involved shooting, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office told News 6 sister station News 4 Jax.The Sheriff’s Office said the chase started about 11:30 p.m.

Sunday at the intersection of University Boulevard and Powers Avenue. An arrest report shows an officer noted a car had stopped at a red light in the crosswalk, and when the light changed to green, the car -- which had a total of seven occupants, including a child and four teenagers -- accelerated, headed down Powers Avenue and abruptly changed lanes, which caused traffic to slow down.When the car hit 80 mph, according to the arrest report, the officer turned on his blue lights.

NEW JERSEY - Two weeks after her son was shot and killed and her husband injured, U.S. District Judge Esther Salas released a video statement about why she believes she was targeted in her North Brunswick home.Judge Salas released a video statement Monday about the horrifying incident on July 19."My family has experienced a pain that no one should ever have to endure," said Judge Salas. "And I am here asking everyone to help me ensure that no one ever has to experience this kind of pain."A gunman shot and killed Daniel Salas, 20, as he answered the door and shot and wounded the judge's husband before fleeing. Roy Den Hollander, an attorney based in New York City, has been identified as the killer.
