TV presenter Kate Garraway reportedly made a desperate 12-hour flight to the UK from Mexico with her late husband Derek Draper, in a bid to save his life after he suffered a cardiac arrest.
Devoted Kate, 56, reportedly took Derek to Mexico for specialist treatment and was told in early December that he had suffered a cardiac arrest while she was getting a connecting flight inside Mexico.
It's thought that Derek was then stabilised and placed on a medical-evacuation plane for the 12 hour trip back to the UK. Kate, who is currently taking a break from her presenting roles, then spent Christmas with him in a London hospital before he passed away earlier this week.
A source told The Sun on Sunday: “It’s been an unbelievably gruelling eight weeks for Kate, and how she is still going is quite remarkable.
