Fashion fans around the world were left devastated when it was revealed that the Met Gala had been cancelled this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Anna Wintour confirmed that the 2020 bash – held on 4 May to benefit the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute – was to be postponed. ‘Due to the unavoidable and responsible decision by the Metropolitan Museum to close its doors, About Time, and the opening night gala, will be postponed to a later date,’ she announced on Vogue.

This year’s theme was About Time: Fashion and Duration, and was due to be co-hosted by Emma Stone, Meryl Streep and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
