It's no secret that Michelle Heaton has weathered a few storms in her life, but as she enters the new year, the star revealed she is feeling stronger than ever.
In an exclusive interview with OK!, the star said she puts it all down to her love of fitness. The former Liberty X singer, 44, has been sober for nearly three years after battling a severe alcohol addiction that threatened to destroy both her and her family.
Prior to that, she opted to undergo a full hysterectomy at the age of 35 after discovering she was genetically at high risk of ovarian cancer. The procedure threw her body into early menopause, which the star has since described as “crippling”.
But since quitting booze, Michelle has turned a corner. But developing this change in mindset wasn’t an overnight switch for Michelle, as she discusses her battle with body confidence over the years. “I wouldn’t say I had body dysmorphia, but there are definitely things that I have wanted to change,” she sighed. “I think I’ve always had low esteem and that was really hard being in the public eye, especially during Liberty X.” Michelle rose to fame with the pop band in 2000 and they released hit singles such as Just a Little and Being Nobody.
