Nova Scotia reports province’s first COVID-19 death

The first death related to COVID-19 has been reported in Nova Scotia. According to the province, a woman in the eastern zone died from the virus.

Chief public health officer Dr. Robert Strang announced 31 new cases on Monday, bringing the provincial total to 293. Nine are now in hospital and 64 have now recovered.

Over 10,000 COVID-19 tests have come back negative. [ Sign up for our Health IQ newsletter for the latest coronavirus updates ] Of the cases in the province, 52 per cent are female and 48 per cent are male.
