Odisha reports highest single-day spike in Covid-19 cases this year, tally at 3,49,561

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has reported 1,379 new cases in a single day which is the highest spike of Covid numbers in this year for the state.

After the addition of new cases, the tally has reached 3,49,561. The state has recorded over 1,000 covid cases for three consecutive days after the latest data was revealed.

The state reported 1,282 cases on Friday and 1,374 cases on Saturday. According to a PTI report, the new cases were mostly sourced from zones that have already been quarantined.

The report suggests 808 new cases were reported from quarantine centres and 571 were detected during contact tracing.Sundargarh district recorded the maximum number of fresh cases at 317, followed by Khurda (158), Nuapada (90), Sambalpur (86).The death toll.
