Over 260 patients with Covid-19 in hospital

The Health Service Executive has reported a small increase in the number of hospital patients with Covid-19. The HSE said there were 263 patients with the virus last night, an increase of three from yesterday.

Beaumont Hospital in Dublin has the most number of cases with 30 patients. Intensive care cases have reduced slightly, with 55 people in ICUs across the country.

Yesterday, the Department of Health reported 320 new cases of Covid-19. It was one of the lowest daily case numbers since mid-December.

Meanwhile, the HSE said that it will have administered one million vaccine doses this week. The vaccination of people aged 70 and older is continuing and more than 42,000 people at very high risk have been given a jab.
