East Ayrshire Council's new chief executive has officially taken the reins at the local authority — and he immediately set his sights on supporting those hit hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic.Eddie Fraser began life as the council's top executive on Monday but is no stranger to East Ayrshire, nor to the public sector.Mr Fraser's career spans 34 years as he started with Strathclyde Regional Council in 1986 and joined East Ayrshire in 1998.Most recently, he spent almost seven years as director of East Ayrshire health and social care partnership, where he has played a pivotal role in the region's collective response to the current COVID-19 pandemic.Speaking during his first week in his new post, Mr Fraser praised local communities, council
