SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - The summer of travel woes will most certainly continue into the fall. American Airlines is the latest to announce hundreds of flight cancellations in the coming months.The security lines at the airport are the least of the concerns at Philadelphia International.

Loaded gun detected on passenger's carry-on bag at Philadelphia International Airport (Photo/TSA) PHILADELPHIA, PA. - A man was cited on weapons charges at Philadelphia International Airport Wednesday after Travel Security Administration (TSA) officers say a loaded 9mm handgun was detected in his carry-on bag.According to TSA officers, the X-ray machine at the airport’s security checkpoint alerted them to the firearm loaded with nine bullets, prompting local police to confiscate the man’s handgun and issue him a citation.Police say he may also be subject to fines for carrying weapons of up to $15,000 after appearing in court.MORE LOCAL HEADLINES:Gerardo Spero, TSA’s Federal Security Director for Philadelphia International Airport, used the incident to remind passengers to review the TSA’s firearm security procedures to avoid penalties for packing items improperly. "The summer travel season is busy here in Philadelphia and our TSA officers are focused on ensuring that travelers do not bring prohibited or illegal items with them through the checkpoints," he said. "I’m grateful that our officers here in Philadelphia and nationwide remain focused during this busy travel season.

MARLTON, N.J. - A Burlington County family escaped injury when a massive chunk of ice fell from the sky and through the roof of their Marlton home.Kim Paradise tells FOX 29 she had just carried her baby out of the kitchen when she heard what she thought was a tractor-trailer crashing through their home.  It turned out to be a giant piece of clear ice that smashed through the ceiling of her kitchen.Photos provided by Paradise show a gaping hole down the middle of the main roof beam of the home.Paradise says she was giving her baby medicine when the ice came crashing down leaving her kitchen in shambles.

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - International visitors are now allowed back in the United States after a near 20-month ban, due to the pandemic and it’s one more step toward getting back to normal."Most visitors that were not allowed into the U.S. since March 2020 are now able to enter, as long as they’re vaccinated and have proof of a negative COVID test," explained Philadelphia International Airport spokesperson Heather Redfern.Traffic will take time to pick back up.
