But the opportunity to be his own boss at a club abroad tempted him away, only for a coronavirus lockdown to put everything on hold.
Lovenkrands is still due to take over at the unnamed club when visa and work permit restrictions are lifted.But he admits it's been mentally tough since leaving his role at the Rangers Training Centre.The former Gers star said: “It was hard leaving Rangers but it was a decision I had to take.
