School pupils could be sent home for joke coughing and punished for using the wrong toilets in strict new coronavirus rules.
With many schools set to re-open on Monday, parents have been warned their kids face suspension if they can't stick to restrictions.
Putting rule breakers together into detention could risk further spreading the virus and so it has been deemed safer to send them back home.
A letter sent out by Jerome Scafe, an associate principal at Ark Alexandra Academy in Hastings, East Sussex, warned even jokes about the killer bug are banned.
