A fuming football coach has slammed bosses at NL Leisure after they told him his boys’ team would be charged if he cancelled a pitch let due to fears over coronavirus.After reading an advisory notice from SYFA (Scottish Youth Football Association), Andrew Stevenson, a coach at Shotts YMCA boys’ club, decided to cancel the team’s training on the 3G pitch at Calderhead High School.
But he was left furious after being told that the normal cancellation fees would apply.To add to his frustration, hours later North Lanarkshire Council revealed it would be closing its leisure facilities until further notice because of the COVID-19 outbreak.Andrew was eventually notified that the cancellation fees would be waived but the coach is far from satisfied
