New rules were introduced on Friday - with people caught at house parties of more than 15 people now facing an £800 fine.At the weekend Lancashire police broke up a party in Ormskirk and in the early hours of Sunday morning officers also broke up a party in a Liverpool city centre hotel attended by more than 200 people.Separately, two stricken climbers on Ben Nevis in Scotland were fined for breaking the rules after travelling from Glasgow.There were also fines issued after police were called to parties in London and Bristol.Lancashire Police said officers were called to a house in Ormskirk in the early hours.
