New Jersey woman accused of reporting fake shooting to get out of traffic stop
CLEMENTON, N.J. - A woman is facing charges after authorities in Camden County say she made a bogus 911 call about a shooting in an effort to distract an officer who had pulled her over. On Monday afternoon, authorities say the Gloucester Township Police Communications Center received a 911 call about a shooting at the Millbridge Garden Apartment Complex in Clementon.Authorities say when officers were responding to the area, they did not observe a shooting scene, and they made several calls to the residents of the complex. Investigators traced the cell phone number back to Katelynne Hunter-Fisher, which dispatchers were able to recognize from a motor vehicle stop that was in progress at the time the 911 call was made.Responding officers verified that there was no shooting at the apartment complex, and they were able to locate the Hunter-Fisher in Lindenwold. Police determined that Hunter-Fisher called in the false shooting report in an attempt to distract the officers from completing the motor vehicle stop. Hunter-Fisher, 35, was arrested for filing a false police report and obstruction of justice. ___MORE LOCAL HEADLINES___DOWNLOAD: FOX 29 NEWS APP | FOX 29 WEATHER AUTHORITY APPSUBSCRIBE: Good Day Digest Newsletter | FOX 29 Philly on YouTubeAdvertisementFOLLOW: Facebook | Instagram | Twitter

New Jersey motorists suspicious of price gouging as gas prices remain high
CAMDEN - If you’ve driven anywhere in 2022 you may have noticed that the price you’re paying at the pump, is a far cry from what it was just a year ago.In New Jersey, where prices are sometimes less than Pennsylvania, some are reporting gas stations price gouging customers. The division of Consumer Affairs reports that they received more complaints in one month then they've received in the past two years."High prices alone may not constitute a violation, but we encourage consumers who suspect excessive price increases at the pump or any other form of consumer abuse, to file an online complaint," Division of Consumer Affairs Public Information Officer Gema de las Heras said. As of Thursday, the price for a gallon of regular fuel in New Jersey sat around $4.19 which is a tick below the national average of $4.22, per AAA.According to AAA, the average price of a gallon of regular fuel in Pennsylvania was $4.42 on Monday. Driver in New Jersey paid $4.33 per gallon, and Delaware's gas prices sat at $4.21 on average.  "We try to carpool, we try to just keep things local a little bit and just do our best to save from making extra trips," one New Jersey small business worker said. President Biden announced actions today to help Americans at the pump by ordering gas companies to use idle wells or face a fine from the government. "Right now, oil and gas industries are sitting on nearly 9000 unused but approved permits for production on federal lands are more than a million unused acres they have a right to pump on, families can't afford that company sit on their hands," President Biden said.A more immediate step he announced is the releasing of one million barrels of oil from the strategic petroleum reserve.

(Photo by Christian Petersen/Getty Images) PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia 76ers will formally introduce James Harden to the media and fans on Tuesday. The team will be hosting an introductory press conference at their Camden, New Jersey training complex at noon to introduce Harden and veteran forward Paul Millsap. Both players were acquired ahead of last week’s trade deadline in a deal with the Brooklyn Nets that sent Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond, and two first-round picks to the Nets. You can watch their introductory press conference live on FOX 29 and FOX29.com. While Curry and Drummond made their Nets debut on Monday night – with Simmons in attendance on the bench – Harden is not expected to take the court for the Sixers until after the upcoming All-Star break. The Sixers are still eager to test out the partnership between Harden, a 32-year-old former MVP, and Joel Embiid. The 76ers are getting an MVP-worthy year out of Embiid, and team President Daryl Morey — who was in the front office with Houston when Harden played for the Rockets — made the deadline deal to ensure the Sixers have plenty for the championship push.Embiid leads the league in scoring with 29.4 points and has scored at least 25 points in 30 straight games.
