The parents of tragic Emily Jones have raised a staggering amount of money in 24 hours in her name for charity. Emily, seven, suffered neck injuries in a horrific random attack by a stranger as she was playing on her scooter in Queen's Park in Bolton with her family on March 22.
She was rushed to Salford Royal Hospital, but doctors were unable to save her. A 30-year-old woman was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.
She is being held in a secure medical facility after being detained under the Mental Health Act. Emily's heartbroken parents have now launched a fundraising drive in her name.
The cash will be for charities providing sports and art activities for children and teenagers across Bolton. Mum Sarah Barnes set up a GoFundMe
