A dad-of-two is challenging himself to cycle for two days in a bid to raise money for coronavirus ward staff. Chris Paxford, from Atherton, usually spends his time looking after his two little girls or at work as an electrician.
After work subsided with lockdown, the 32-year-old started cycling - buying a static bike for his living room workouts. Within weeks, the brave novice had dared himself to take on a daunting cycling challenge to raise as much money as possible for staff caring for COVID-19 patients at the Royal Bolton Hospital.
Starting on Friday, Chris will be cycling 10 miles every four hours for 48 hours, sleeping in a camp bed by his bike after cycling into the wee hours during the two-day marathon.
