Travel Republic is offering holidaymakers new cover if they need to cancel their trip because of Covid-19 under a new 'Holiday Promise' scheme.

The online travel agent says that every new package holiday booked which includes a flight and hotel will come with Covid Cover Plus, offering protection across a range of scenarios.

For example, holidaymakers will be covered if they, their travel companion or anyone they have arranged to stay with during the trip falls sick or tests positive for Covid-19 within 14 days of their departure date.

Other scenarios also include if you are admitted to hospital due to coronavirus within 28 days of the start of your trip, or if you/a travel companion are denied boarding following a positive coronavirus
