The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland has said he hopes the Irish Government will exempt travellers from Britain from quarantine requirements.
The comments from Brandon Lewis come a day after he claimed the 14 day quarantine period for people arriving in the state from Britain was under review.
That claim was quickly rejected by an Irish government spokesman, who said there is no review. The British Government has exempted people travelling to the UK from the Republic of Ireland from its proposed period of self-isolation for international travellers because of the Common Travel Area.
