A drugs company will produce doses of the Oxford coronavirus vaccine for half the UK population by September if the treatment proves effective.
Business Secretary Alok Sharma made the announcement today in the government’s daily Covid-19 briefing. Pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca will mass produce the vaccine, if trials prove successful, with a target set to make 30 million doses by September.
Mr Sharma revealed a deal had been struck between the drug giant and Oxford University where trails are currently under way that will hopefully offer a protective treatment to the deadly COVID-19 virus.
A further 70 million doses will be created over time as the global fight against coronavirus continues. Funding for the project has reached more
