UL students offered free Covid tests before travelling home for Christmas

Students at the University of Limerick are being offered free Covid-19 tests before they travel home for the Christmas period.

The tests will be carried out by Public Health Mid-West. While they are open to all UL students they are especially targeted at students who are living in rented accommodation either on the college campus or nearby, and who will be leaving Limerick to spend the Christmas holiday with wider family in other parts of the country.

Limerick currently has one of the highest incidences of Covid-19 in the country. This measure is aimed at detecting cases that might otherwise go unnoticed.
