A well-known Salford shop has been referred to Trading Standards for inflating its prices during the coronavirus pandemic. Concerns were raised over Best Bargain Eccles hiking the prices of its essential products in recent weeks.
Police visited the Fox Street store and asked the owners to consider closing, which they obliged to do. However the shop reopened a short time later and is permitted to stay open due to being a homeware store, officers say.
Police confirmed that complaints about Best Bargain Eccles, along with other shops in the town centre, have now been referred to Trading Standards for inflating prices during the Covid-19 outbreak.
