The annual Wythenshawe Games and Wythenshawe Pride have been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Due to ongoing restrictions on public gatherings, organisers of the Wythenshawe Games have made the "difficult" decision to cancel the sporting event, which was due to be held in July.
Event organisers said the decision had "not been taken easily," but making necessary preparations will not be possible, even if the current lockdown is relaxed.
The games attracts thousands of visitors every year. This year's games would have marked the community's version of the Olympics ninth year.
Organisers said it would be "irresponsible" to risk people's health, when social distancing is still likely to remain in place this summer.
