Zoos open and outdoor sports back as restrictions ease

The further easing of Covid-19 Level 5 restrictions comes into effect today. Sports pitches, golf courses and tennis courts will reopen and visitor attractions including zoos, pet farms and heritage sites will also be back in business.

Underage non-contact outdoor training in pods of 15 can recommence and the number of people who can attend a funeral will increase to 25.

The Government will this week consider plans for further reopenings during May. The National Public Health Emergency Team meets on Wednesday to consider its recommendations, with the Cabinet sub-committee on Covid-19 also meeting.

The Taoiseach will announce on Thursday the specific reopening plans for May along with signals on what may happen later in the summer. Latest
