A flight carrying a group of up to 120 Irish citizens who were stranded in Peru due to the Covid-19 pandemic has touched down at Heathrow Airport in London on their way home to Ireland.
The group of students and tourists from different parts of Ireland will fly on to Dublin Airport arriving at 1.25pm. After arriving they will travel to their homes and are expected to go into a two-week period of self-isolation.
One couple returning to Kinnegad, Co Westmeath, are Neil Cooney and his wife Kath who cut short their honeymoon in Peru after the coronavirus outbreak.
Neil's father, Nicholas, says he has taken special precautionary measures to ensure his son and daughter-in-law are safe and isolated when they get home.
