Tiolúwani Aderibigbe recently finished an undergraduate degree in global development at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ont.
While the 22-year-old previously had summer placements the last two years, this year there are no jobs open in her field that she can find, even with a degree.
It’s likely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she says. Aderibigbe says she’s lucky to be able to live with her parents in Hamilton, Ont., while she continues the job hunt.
She’s hesitant to take a job in a grocery store or as a delivery person out of concern for her parents’ safety. “Employment for me at this time would be nice so I can get back up on my feet again.
