90% of adult population expected to be fully vaccinated in coming days - Donnelly

The Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has said that 90% of the population over the age of 18 will be fully vaccinated in the next couple of days.

Mr Donnelly said 88% of those over the age of 16 are fully vaccinated while 83% of those over the age of 12 are now fully vaccinated.

70% of the total population is now fully vaccinated, he said. Latest figures from the Health Service Executive show that there are 367 patients with Covid-19 in hospital, a reduction of 17 on yesterday.

The number of patients in ICU remains unchanged at 59. Yesterday, the Department of Health confirmed 1,144 new cases of Covid-19. Read latest coronavirus stories
