The Catholic Primate of all Ireland and Archbishop of Armagh the Most Reverend Eamon Martin has said he is confident that parishes and churches around the country will be able to reopen safely, but urged worshippers not to rush to return to services.
The Most Rev Martin said he is very confident all parishes around the country have put in place support teams to assist the priests and pastoral teams for the safe reopening of churches.
Under Phase 3 of lifting Covid-19 restrictions, religious buildings and laces of worship can reopen. Yesterday, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar announced that Ireland will move to Phase 3 as planned on Monday.
