Arsenal are looking to extend Dani Ceballos' loan from Real Madrid beyond the end of June as they plan for a prolonged season.
The Spaniard headed to the Emirates at the start of the season and is due to return to Madrid at the end of the campaign. But with the Premier League's fixture list so far undecided due to the coronavirus pandemic the Gunners are looking to ensure they keep hold of the playmaker.
Ceballos has previously suggested he wanted to return to Los Blancos earlier than planned, but Mikel Arteta urged his compatriot to fight for his place.
He said earlier this season: "I heard of all of those things [speculation about a move] but I don't have a comment. "He needs to get back to fitness and fight for his place.
