The Premier League’s return is edging closer with most teams now back and participating in some form of training. From a Manchester United point of view, this is good news as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men remain in a crucial battle to secure Champions League football back at Old Trafford next season.
As things stand, United sit in fifth position, three points behind Chelsea in fourth and two points clear of Wolverhampton Wanderers in sixth.
Finishing fifth would see United qualify for the Champions League due to the European ban currently imposed on Manchester City, although United’s crosstown rivals are looking to appeal the ban next month at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
