The leading Canadian vaccine maker, Quebec-based Medicago, is using a breakthrough approach with plants to create its Covid-19 vaccine.
If approved for use, Canadians could start receiving the vaccine by the second part of this year. But the bulk of its doses won’t initially come from Canada, despite years of lobbying the federal government for funds to support manufacturing at home.
