A friendly dog who has kept an entire community company during the coronavirus pandemic has been named Britain’s ultimate Lockdown Dog Hero as voted for by readers.
Hunter, a 17-month-old black cockapoo, beat 21 other regional winners to scoop the accolade for the part he has played in keeping isolation at bay for both his teenage owner and the people of Clubmoor in Liverpool.
Thousands of dog owners nominated their four-legged friends for the competition, which was run in conjunction with Butcher’s Nourishing Food for Dogs, sharing their stories of the ways in which their pups have kept their spirits up over the past few months.
