Official figures today point to a "slight increase" in the number of new coronavirus cases in England as a whole for the first time since April.
The Office for National Statistics estimates there were around 4,200 new cases per day in the community in England in the week to July 26.
That estimate is up from 2,800 the week before and 1,700 the week before that. Although week-on-week figures can't be directly compared, the ONS said there is now evidence of a rise.
